one ocean wave on the sandy beach

Our lives are like the splash of one ocean wave on the sandy beach. It comes in, it goes back out and is gone. Finished.

Cool mornings, hot afternoons.

Well, hot for November.

The winter rains are late again this year.

The brown finches that live in the wilds

Of my backyard hop and peck

Under the glow of a golden sun.
