memories watch me

night dew and moonlight

mingle and shine

friends don’t you know

that this world is filled

with blue flowers

a cold night

i shiver as i write down

the names of the gods i deny

and then erase them all

the page is again blank

memories watch me

or so it seems

i rise from the hard straight chair

and wrap a blanket around myself

and pick up the pencil

to begin again

this could take a long time

from behind a memory holds me

in her whispery arms

Just understand your mind: how it works, how attachment and desire arise, how ignorance arises, where emotions come from. It is sufficient to know the nature of all that; just that gives so much happiness and peace.

-Lama Thubten Yeshe

But do not ask me where I am going,

As I travel in this limitless world,

Where every step I take is my home.

-Dōgen Zenji

The here and now is always a good place to take shelter. Don't leave home without it.
