If you must touch me, touch me
Like an elephant touches fruit on the tree.
And if you feel the need to speak, then speak
With the screeching cry of the peacock,
Or the grunt of a mountain ape.
Be an animal or leave me alone.
Make up your mind;
The sunlight is dappled through the trees,
Dressing up the earth.
Be an animal or just walk on by.
